Spellings/handwriting

Summer term Second Half

Summer term First half

Spellings are given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday.

Please help your child to learn the words throughout the week, a few minutes each night.

When they have learned the words, help them to use the words in context, giving them sentences with as many of the spelling words in as possible. This will help them to improve their spellings in their writing.

While practising, please also focus on handwriting, ensuring letters either start in the space (not on the line) or right at the top (if it is a tall letter like b,f,h,k,l,t). Also remind them that capitals should touch the top line and does not go below the line).
